A Swedish massage is a reliable mainstay with a long history of usage. Known as the “classic massage” in many parts of the world, this variety uses a series of specialized strokes to relax the client. A Swedish massage helps to relax tired muscles as well as the mind. It can help take one into a parasympathetic state of mind. Breathing deepens, heart rate slows, blood pressure lowers and the mind is in a calm state to help heal the body.
This is sometimes combined with a deep tissue massage, which is aimed at relieving tension in the deeper areas of the musculature.
The deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that can eliminate pain and stress in the body. This is a more intense massage that is designed to go deeper than superficial layers of muscle. Deep tissue massage can help with chronic muscle tightness and pain. People who have very physical demanding jobs or athletes may benefit from this massage.
This is sometimes combined with a fibromyalgia massage or headache massage, which is aimed at relieving tension in the deeper areas of the musculature, it can do wonders in achieving flexibility, relaxation, and even headache relief.
Deep tissue massage involves much more than just rubbing and kneading the shoulders. Those who undertake the proper training are able to work wonders with the human body. Many people say they feel lighter, more alert and less bothered by things that might normally upset them. Professional massage therapy lessens anxiety and depression.
A sport massage provides athletic massage for those who play sports. Many people who play sports have endured the pain and agony of an injury. They pull a muscle or over-extend it. Athletes rely on their body to perfectly operate during a game. Sports massage can help you recover from muscle pain after sports or help with flexibility before a game/event.
Hot stone therapy is a great way to reduce tension and stress while increasing circulation. This massage incorporates warm, smooth basalt stones placed strategically on different points on the body, applied to the muscles using oil or lotion. The heat that a hot stone massage provides allows the massage therapist to reach deeper levels of the muscles. The warmth penetrates deep into the muscle tissue, helping to ease the muscles and mind. When combined with a relaxation massage, a hot stone massage can work wonders on stress and pain; it is the ultimate relaxing massage.
